Sugandha Shaktipeeth, located in Shikharpur village near Barisal in Bangladesh, is a sacred temple dedicated to Goddess Sunanda. This temple is part of the 51 Shakti Peethas and is believed to be the site where Goddess Sati's nose (Nasika) fell. The temple stands on the banks of the Sunanda River, adding to its serene and spiritual significance.
The temple is adorned with rich carvings and sculptures of gods and goddesses, making it a site of great historical and religious importance. The original idol was stolen, but a new idol was later installed. The temple features a powerful idol of Ugratara Suganda Devi, holding a sword, and is flanked by figures of Kartik, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and Ganesha. The grandeur of the temple and its surroundings, especially its reflection on the river, creates an awe-inspiring and spiritual experience.
